I heard this “remake” is more true to the book. I really wouldn’t call it a remake…it’s reminds me of Casino Royal and how it was more true to the book than that stupid 1966′s spoof version with the late Peter Sellers.
i saw this over the holidays, as well as black swan and tron. largest amount of movies in a two week time span in a LONG time. i loved true grit!
Finally saw it, it is every bit as good as the Schmoes said it is.

lol…. Coen Bros deserve best director for this definantly. Maddies name in real life is Haliee Stienfeld(Jew). She deserves oscar for this considering it was her first major role.
From Fargo to True Grit is how i look at awesome films now’a'days.

I totally loved this movie! One problem with the video… you said she would be nominated for “Best Supporting Actress”… I think that would be a mistake on the Academy’s part. She was a lead actress in this film! And a great one too.
