Professional wrestling star the Rock, who was such a pile of strength in The Scorpion King, proves surprisingly light on his feet in The Rundown, demonstrating appeal and amusement as well as the claim toughness. Beck (the Rock), a repo-man for deadbeats, is sent to South America to find a value hunter (Seann William Scott) who’s looking a precious golden idol–which the internal head honcho (Christopher Walken) would similar to to get his hands on as well. Add in the poetic but dangerous barmaid with a tip (Rosario Dawson), and Beck has a little obstacles to overcome. The tract of The Rundown isn’t anything special, but the book is enjoyably crafty and pretty coherent; the able expel keeps things lively; and the movie’s loose but tough gait sets it detached from the raging floundering of new movement flicks–kudos to executive Peter Berg (Very Bad Things). A surprisingly fun flick. –Bret Fetzer

The movie is good. But their brazilian portuguese SUCKs. I mean if they were from “Brazil” why do they talk like portuguese people i meant Portuguese people from Portugal, I hate watching the movie due to that reason for me the movie does not pass the feeling of reality at all…for example in the movie TAXI even Queen Latifa does a great job talking a lil brazilian portuguese….

I didn’t realize that the DVD I ordered was an HD not a regular. Didn’t even know that they can only play on HD players. E-mailed the contact we bought it from and he just said sorry. Wouldn’t refund or anything. So we haven’t watched it since we have nothing to watch it on!!

this is one of that passable entertaining movies. it could be better if they had used a more gorgeous guy than THE ROCK! yes, he has a big muscular body but a ridiculous and ugly face! he can never in no way take Arnold Schwarznegger’s place! but his beauty is not really matter in this movie, the whole movie, scenario, directing and actings were terrible! BECK (The Rock) maybe a strong big guy but a guy in that size and weight could never be that fast! all of the fight scenes are terrible and clumsy! fastening slow pictured fight moves could be recognized in all of fight scenes. and the story is not something special, two guys are running away trough the jungle and a group of gangs are following them and at the end, they find a treasure, so what? finding a treasure or a valuable artifact sounds good but this is not a Indiana Jones movie! the only person who has given this movie some credit is “Sean Eilliam Scott”. I can not tell that watching this movie is an absolutely waste of time but I can never suggest to anyone to even rent it.
Although The DVD release is pretty good and it’s full of special features but even this could not help it. It’s not worth anything!

Rosario Dawson, who was the hot chick in Men in Black 2, is a co-star in The Rundown. She is the only reason why you should see this movie. Everybody else sucked.
The action scenes are very watered-down. And Rock’s fight scenes looked as fake as wrestling.
This is a nice rental since it’s better than the Scorpion King, but it is not worth buying to own.

I love dude from American Pie (although B2K should’ve won the dance award) and the Roc is a major favorite (ever since that one episode of Punk’d), this movie was terrible. I fell asleep on it four times. The only good part was the beginning with the extremely gorgeous baseball player dealing with the ring. That’s it. The rest of the movie was a little too cliche–eew, find a treasure. Great in bedtime stories, not good for two grown men who seem completely out of place in a jungle. I liked the short guy who talked about Ali “Float like a budda-fly” though. The humor wasn’t even amusing because the movie was just too slow and far out for me.
