Sophisticated to a point, this well-executed wolf-man story functions due to the crafty environment and huge star power. We all know Jack Nicholson can go nuts, but the book creates his impression wakeful of his changes, infrequently for the better, early on. The setting, a edition residence in the center of a takeover, gives the characters thespian hold up prior to the abhorrence elements kicks in. A comparison editor about to get the boot, Nicholson’s impression becomes a brand brand new male after being bitten by a wolf. He takes on hurdles at work, lives a some-more strong life, and attracts a brand brand new love. But will his newfound appetite devour him? Director Mike Nichols keeps the movement alive in the initial half, but the movie peters out at the finish with poor theatrics and the use too much of delayed motion. Michelle Pfeiffer has small to do as simply the love seductiveness with a grittier than normal personality. Better is James Spader as a smarmy colleague. Nicholson is in excellent form, relying on his penetrating present to hint seductiveness (a tingle of the head, a demeanour in the eyes), instead of complicated doses of movie makeup. Giuseppe Rotunno’s unconditional camerawork sets the mood utterly well. Easy to recommend, with the combined underline it’s frequency gratuitous. –Doug Thomas
