its funny that mickey rourkes performance sucked in this, since he is bashingm arvel now for making his character 1 dimensial, you have lost all sympathy rourke
The characters didn’t matter at all in this flick. If all humans but Hyperion, including that knock-off Theseus guy never existed in the script, the outcome would have been completely the same.
Worst movie of 2011? Certainly top 3.
Good review, I’ll rent this.
First to +1
Nice honesty John, especially on the Rourke aspect, lets hope he doesn’t see that, or just agrees HAHA
The film was visually stunning. You have to give it to the director, Tarsem Singh. From “The Fall”, to the “The Cell”, and now “Immortals”, the guy has a real aesthetic sense. The only problem is that there isn’t much of a story to accompany the very engaging camera work and set pieces. When the action is on screen it is well choreographed. The only problem is that this movie’s main selling point is its action, and its action scenes are too infrequent and short, with the exception of the climax.
That’s old school them intro! DIG IT!
Great review John. As always.
