Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson and the rest of Heart have been in great form in this plain if unspectacular 100-minute unison video, shot in 2002 in their hometown of Seattle. The sisters, of course, have been a great understanding comparison than in Heart’s ’70s heyday, and their bandmates have changed, but the group’s sound, led by Ann’s absolute vocals and Nancy’s instrumental versatility, hasn’t altered much; that’s a great thing for those who revelry in the likes of “Barracuda,” “Magic Man,” and alternative oldies. There have been multiform mint songs here as well, and the ongoing change of Led Zeppelin is straightforwardly apparent, not usually in the covers of Zep classics similar to “Black Dog” and “The Battle of Evermore” but additionally in Heart’s commingling of rural acoustic sounds and tough rock. And after nineteen songs, even the many fervent Heart lovers should be well satisfied. –Sam Graham

There was a time when Heart was a straight-up tough Led Zeppelin type of group. The way they interact and play off each other, they have evolved into a sort of hard rock Indigo Girls type of group. Where’s the group unity? It’s all about Ann & Nancy and that is obvious here. Ann is a shell of her former self. She should be forbidden from ever performing live again. Nancy looks all burnt out.

Not sure if this is a fair review of this HD-DVD or merely a reflection on my player, but just like David L. below, I had the same issue while trying to play this disc on my Xbox 360 HD-DVD player. Just like he said, it doesn’t want to load past the production co. logo. If you wait long enough, it loaded the title screen for me, but trying to navigate through the menu resulted in an action not supported message and trying to hit play resulted in a lengthly pause followed by a return to the FBI warning screen and that same prod. co. logo and eventually the title screen again. The only other issue I’ve had with an HD-DVD on my X360 player was with Superman Returns, which was related to a well-known freeze-up problem in some copies, and after an exchange from the store, I got one that worked fine. Maybe the same is true for this one as well. Frustrating when I was looking forward to a great live show, but no delivery. . .

I am a Heart fan from way back in the early 70′s, albums, cd’s, concert’s, etc . Out of my entire collection I think this DVD has the lowest quality audio of Anne that I have ever heard. All you hear is a lot of echo. I can live with 5.0 surround but the echo is so bad that I just previewed the DVD and could not play it completely. Who ever mixed this soundtrack has no idea what he is doing. Anne’s voice is Heart. I recommend you do not buy this DVD until it is re-mixed. What a shame that such a great group’s first DVD has such poor sound quality.

My HD-DVD also does not work on the 360 add on. I tried the press OK and everything else I could think of. This disk just freezes right after the production logo when it should be going to the menu. This is the only HD-DVD disk that I’ve had a problem with and I have about 10 of them. I didn’t purchase the Chicago disk as I already have it and didn’t think it was worth the HD purchase. I did purchase the Eagles HD-DVD and it is excellent. That one also has a trick to it. It defaults to a PCM stereo file so you have to triger it to the DTS ON mode and then it is amazing. I hope its true that microsoft is working on a patch for Heart. I saw them last year and they were fantastic. Not as good as the old days but neither am I. They still surprised me that they sounded sooo good.
**** UPDATE**** Since Amazon doesn’t have acceptible response.

Dear Dave
Thank you for you inquiry. We apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing with our product, but the problem is not with the software. This issue is isolated to the Xbox add-on, as our product plays as intended on all stand-alone players. Our replicator initially found this problem and has been working directly with Microsoft and they are close to resolving this issue. We remain in communication with both the replicator and Microsoft and we believe that an announcement will be made as soon as a firmware upgrade is available, after which time, your disc will play as intended.
Again, we apologize for this temporary inconvenience.
Thank you
