FYI: ck out Ira Flatow’s sciencefriday look in archives for Aug 26 2011 show. title of the episode is A Look Back At 911 In I Heard the Sirens Scream. The interview is with author Laurie Garrett who wrote the bk, The Coming Plague. Abt 2/3rds in she talks abt working/consulting on the script for Contagion for 3yrs. Interesting. Actually, I found the entire interview to be quite interesting.
@ImSquizzy – I heard Matt Damon on some show talking abt this very line that you mention. He said on the movie they had an ER doc that was consulted. The ER doc described this very response as being a common response from people when they are told that their loved one has died. It’s a truth they (understandably) don’t want to hear so they don’t. At least at first they don’t hear it.

i think 28 Weeks Later was one of my most favorite outbreak movies… so was I Am Legend… darn, there are a lot of good outbreak films. i cant really choose. maybe the origional Dawn of the Dead? i just don’t know. but i love your reviews. i’m a big fan.
I agree i was like “wait were did she go did she make it??” and then what about the dude on the bus…..did he die??? Im soo freacked out right now though and i almost walked out within those first 10 min of just people falling over dieing wit foamy mouths
