3D MODELING | LAMBORGHINI ANIMATION & WORKFLOW MONTAGE [1080P]
This is my fast paced montage of a rather customary car indication workflow for movie & existence prolongation with Autodesk Maya. Final shots rendered with Mental Ray for Maya and composited in Autodesk Toxik. Modeling, existence & video modifying by Michael Backus. NOTE: Before commenting, I already know which this is unequivocally fast paced and over-edited so do not design to follow along simply the initial time around. The thought was to have a short video but at the same time precipitate sufficient of the thirty hour plan so which viewers could get an thought of what this sort of work is like. One thing’s for certain: there’s no “make car” symbol nor is there a “make flattering and shiny” symbol either. General workflow presented here should request to all 3D calm origination software- from Blender to 3ds Max and hopefully those starting out will benefit a clarity of scale- nonetheless bargain and may be even a small impulse to go on and have their own large models. Modeling & Animation finished in Autodesk Maya: Not most to it really. Import picture planes of your model. Create a bend outline of the indication so you can snap the outdoor geometry you emanate to it. From there it’s flattering most a free palm process. This was finished regulating only customary poly collection such as bevel, attach to poly, extrude, duplicating & extracting, inserting/adding corner detail, and the occasional separate & chamfering of vertices, etc. What you do not see in the video have been the many, most vapid hours I outlayed “tweaking” and adjusting particular …

nice model 5/5 love ur modeling skill, but i find it very hard to make models in maya….i’m 3ds max type of guy
…good job anyway
mi friend can you make for me german helmet m42 ? ? ? plzz
D
no words…….
I hate Maya because I suck at it
But this is just an amazing video. Such an awesome amount of detail put in to the car! Excellent work.
You got to make tutorials explaining how you did that in detail because that was amazing!
damn it looks amazing
well, i guess you had alot of free time.. anyway, amazing video.
@Sincrol Thanks. Getting all the “dents” out of the outer plates is something that takes time and even this model could use more tweaking. One way to do this is to apply a blinn shader with a high specular (so the dents become more apparent) to the model then go about using the Sculpt Geometry tool (carefully) to smooth out the vertices or just do it by hand- probably the better way. I’m thinking of posting a huge set of general, modeling & rendering tutorials on Maya but not anytime soon.
dude, im trying to copy ur worlk flow in order to model a AUDI…
but, god dammit… its hard to make it look clean… looks like the car have been hit by kids. :{
can you post some Workflow tut? that whould be aweomse!
Coolest video about maya on Youtube, by the way!
espectacular!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@mikeshinoda1998 I’m thinking of making a set of modeling tutorials later but it’s not practical for me to spend such time teaching just one person- plus I’m still learning other things now like character animation and dynamic effects. The software I used is in the description- Autodesk Maya. You can download a free “PLE” version of it and jump right in with the tutorials.
hi im 12 and i would lyk to know how to do that i thought if u could come on skype or live mes.and teach me how to make that thx nice job
5/5 really great job
@Godisen007 While 3ds Max is overall just as powerful Maya has quite a few more tools in the dynamics, fluids, and effects area out of the box I think. Other than that they’re not too different. 3ds Max is generally used for games, architectural design and visualizations, while Maya is utilized more for film and animated movies. But you can use each for whatever you’d like- it’s sort of a preference thing really. Maya just feels more intuitive to me than 3ds Max does.
The detail! O.O Beautiful! I’m wondering, as I’ve gotten used to working with 3DS Max (and Cinema 4D for text intros and such), is it worth switching to Maya? I don’t realy know the difference, or if there even are any majour difference in Maya and 3DS Max. I’d love to have your oppinion on what you think is the best one to go for
@Cyraside Well great job on the work, and if you feel like it add me as a friend so I can see if you post more stuff, I’m very interested in your work, and if you ever decide to make modeling tuts I would love to know about it.
@GamerMiles I’d barely consider myself an intermediate user to be honest as I really have yet to dive into character rigging and complex animation, fluid effects & dynamics, laying out UV’s and texturing, etc- there’s much, much more to learn. I was able to get nice quality in the final shots thanks to the mental ray shaders and basic lighting tricks. Yes, I’ve considered making tutorials of my own later on down the road on things like modeling & rendering with Maya, compositing with Nuke, etc.
@Cyraside well you did a great job truly. I just started using maya and i think it’s really amazing what you can do with it. The program is top notch, and when you can see top notch people such as yourself use the program to it’s potential, it’s astounding what the results turn out to be. Have you ever considered making tutorials of your own? I know I’d sure watch and learn from them.
WOW great stuff !! level of detail is amazing!
i tried making one, it is nowhere near as good as urs, mainly due to crappy blueprints and that i only began to use it a month ago so dnt know how to use it 100% [using autodesk 3ds max 2010]
I never seen anyting like this before very atractive ! nice video
@GamerMiles I’m just a hobbyist with no degrees in these fields but there’s plenty of content & information online to learn enough- from modeling, compositing your scene passes, to video editing. I’ve done much less detailed models in the past (mostly for games) but this was my first attempt at a realistic vehicle model. Starting out as just another personal thing that no one would see, yet as it came together I was inspired to go further- set up lighting, render it out, and also make a video.
jesus dude, the attention to detail, the incredible effects on the video, and the PATIENCE to do such a project. Brovo truly brovo! What experience do you have? Tickets, certificates, classes, degrees, professions, EVERYTHING! How did you get to the point of this and being able to do such great models? I mean you said this was your first one or something like that?! One hell of a first go at it sir. Well done. 10/10
@RaySpoint Google search can land plenty of blueprints for you
What the F***, SH*T!!!
It’s so amazing the Hell!
In german we will say F*ck die Henne!
That must be devels work!
Where I can find this Blueprints?
@Sindorai I must say that it’s probable you used a different Autodesk product for your engineering classes- such as “Inventor.” Maybe AutoCAD. Anyway I’m glad the pacing in the video wasn’t too overwhelming- thanks my good friend and I’m glad you enjoyed it!
